Privacy policy

This policy describes information processed by ExtinctionOS, an independently operated service based in Ohio, United States. ExtinctionOS is owned, created, developed, and operated by the individuals publicly identified as z3r0c00l95 and extinct420. Privacy requests for both operators are handled through privacy@extinctionos.com.

Information processed

• Account information supplied through Discord, including identifiers, display names, avatars, membership and role information needed for access control.
• Steam identifiers and game-account links that users choose to connect.
• Server-owner configuration, community settings, staff permissions, audit records, support messages and transaction records.
• Game-server telemetry supplied by an authorized connector, which may include player identifiers, display names, species, status, coordinates and gameplay events where the owner enables the relevant feature.
• Technical security data such as IP address, request time, browser information, error records and abuse indicators.
• Subscription and payment status. Payment-card details are processed by the payment provider and are not intended to be stored by ExtinctionOS.
• Voice or overlay connection information when a user explicitly enables those features. Microphone audio is handled only as required for an active voice session.

Purposes

Information is used to authenticate users, provide requested features, connect authorized servers, enforce permissions, process subscriptions, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain security, diagnose failures, provide support and satisfy legal obligations.

Service providers

Information may be sent to providers only as needed for the requested service, including website hosting and infrastructure providers, Discord for authentication and community features, Steam for optional identity linking, Stripe for payment processing, and an optional answer provider when provider-assisted support is enabled. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

Sharing

ExtinctionOS does not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed to the server owner or authorized staff responsible for the applicable community, to service providers acting for ExtinctionOS, to protect users or the service, during a lawful business transfer, or when required by valid legal process.

Retention and security

Records are retained only while reasonably necessary for the purposes above, dispute handling, security, backups and legal obligations. Retention varies by record type and configured community feature. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no internet service can promise absolute security.

Your choices and requests

You may disconnect optional integrations, stop sharing optional map information, or ask to access, correct or delete eligible account information. Some audit, payment, security and legal records may need to be retained. Send requests to privacy@extinctionos.com. Applicable state privacy rights will be honored where their legal thresholds and conditions apply.

Children

ExtinctionOS is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information. Do not use the service if you are under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child supplied information should contact the privacy address.

Changes

Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use after a change is governed by the updated policy to the extent permitted by law.
